Based on these assumptions with the product Berart® we wanted to enhance the antioxidant appearance compared to products on the market with the presence of SILYMARIN which is extracted from milk thistle, a plant rich in therapeutic virtues that make it particularly valuable as a tonic for the liver.
Silymarin is a complex of flavonolignans composed primarily of silybin. Silymarin contained in milk thistle has shown a protective effect against many types of chemical toxins, including alcohol and also the phenolic nature of silymarin and silibine makes milk thistle also effective antioxidant.
The liver produces cholesterol and turns sugars into triglycerides and plays a major role in the regulation of hyperlipidemia; it is therefore essential to maintain good liver function. Milk thistle extract is used to improve liver function, protect against liver damage and accelerate the regeneration of damaged liver cells.
The silymarin content, gives the milk thistle the ability to assist the physiological functioning of the liver, facilitating the physiological rebalancing of cholesterol and triglyceride levels by the liver.
In summary it can be said that the results of pharmacological and biochemical studies agree in defining the efficacy of active components of milk thistle as hepatoprotectors and well tolerated and without side effects.
