Berart: what is silymarine?

One of the main purposes of Berart is to enhance the antioxidant action by using Silymarin, extracted from Silybum Marianum, a plant with numerous therapeutic virtues, especially useful as a hepatic tonic.

Silymarin’s main component is silibinin. Silymarin has shown protective properties against many chemical toxins, including alcohol. In addition, its phenolic nature makes this plant a powerful antioxidant.

The liver produces cholesterol and transforms sugar into triglyceride, and plays a major role in regulating hyperlipidemias. It is thus important to keep a good hepatic functionality.

Silybum Marianum extract is used to improve the hepatic function, to protect from hepatic damages, and accelerate the regeneration of damaged hepatic cells.

Concentration of silymarin helps complementing the regular hepatic function, helping the liver to rebalance concentrations of cholesterol and triglycerides.

It can be claimed that the results of biochemical and pharmacological studies agree on the efficiency of Silybum Marianum’s active ingredients as liver-protecting well tolerated and with no side effects.
